What I'm doing (updated 10/2/18)

When I'm not working at the library in town, or hanging out with my kids or my cats I am writing, or doing writing-y things. At the moment I've put together a collection of poems and I'm touting it/tarting it around some potential publishers. I'm also sending poems off to magazines and the like to get more published. I don't feel like I'm doing very well on the writing front at the moment. I have lots of ideas about what's wrong with what I write (especially the novel length things - I have a feeling I'm never going to set one of those free), but not many ideas that I find exciting. No worries, I'll just keep going.

One of my Sci-Fi short stories (there aren't many - I get too bogged down in world building) has gone into a time capsule at the North Ayrshire Heritage Centre, so if you hang on about 100 years you'll be able to read it when it's a historical drama!

I write a regular column for Scotland 4 Kids

Sharing our poetry in Robert Burns' kitchen! As you do!

I took part in Museums at Night 2016, where I joined up with fellow poets Katharine Macfarlane, Rosie Mapplebeck, and Jane Overton to entertain a very lovely audience (and each other) in Robert Burns' very own kitchen.
